Lake House
Love is funny thing…it could happen to any one at any time at any place. But how do you deal with the concept of a boy and a girl falling in love with each other…the problem being that they live two years apart !!!
Director Alejandro Agresti deals with this intriguing concept and creates magic out of this seemingly impossible love story.
Kate (Sandra Bullock), a strong character, is a believer in “There’s a right time and right place for everything”. It is this very belief that isolates her from everyone, and despite being a successful doctor and a stunningly beautiful woman, she is alone.
Alex (Keanu Reeves), a talented young architect is someone who is also isolated from his family – but of his own choice. His loneliness is also more because of the fact that he needed the time and space to forgive and forget his father – which he is unsuccessful till its too late.
When Kate leaves a note @ the Lake House for the next tenant in 2006, she never realized that somehow it would land up in Alex’s hands, which is in 2004. Yup, this involves time travel, but thankfully Alejandro has not subjected us to any black holes and time machines to do this. Infact he attempts on travelling through time to complete relationships.
It is beautiful to watch Sandra and Keauna together. In the scene where Kate and Alex sit on the porche and discuss Jane Austins “Persuasion” – the chemistry is simply incredible.
If you are a romantic @ heart this is a great movie to watch with your partner and believe in the sacred emotion of love!!!
