A Landmark event?
Okie…I am off to Landmark Forum training for 3 days from tomorrow.
The sessions are supposed to be very very hectic. The training is scheduled for 4 days, viz. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and on Tuesday. While Tuesday is from 7:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. the other 3 days are from 9:00a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Don’t know what Landmark forum is…don’t fret…here is the gnyan (knowledge in Hindi)
“Standard educational methods often leave you having to remember the concepts you were taught or trying to figure out how to apply them. Landmark’s method leaves you applying what you learned naturally and without effort.
Similar to riding a bicycle, in Landmark’s programs you learn by direct personal discovery - a moment occurs when a new ability is yours. You become confident in what you’ve learned, and the new ability is yours forever.
The Landmark method is more like coaching than teaching, more like conversation than lecture. While conventional education methods focus on content (adding facts, rules, or skills to our knowledge), the Landmark method deals with context - the framework(s) in which content can exist.”
Notice the question mark (?) in the Title…well I can’t be sure till the time I attend this.
One of the reason why I am apprehensive is because of all the -ve things that I have heard about it. One of the feedback that I have received is that they totally brain wash you. I have actually met an individual who had gone crazy after attending the forum.
One indication of how it mentally affects you is the form that you are made to fill. Sample some questions that you are supposed to fill…
“Have you ever been hospitalized for psychiatric care or mental disorder….”"Are you currently in therapy…”
“Withing the past sex months have you taken any prescription medications or drugs which: a)affect your mental processes or mood; or b) treat a “chemical imbalance”?”
And the one that really boosts your confidence in the forum is this line at the end of the form…
“If you answered “yes” to questions 1, 2b, 3 or 4, we recommend that you NOT participate in the Program at this time….”
It sounds profound. It appears interesting. It seems challenging. And hope so it’s going to be life altering (obviously in a +ve way)!!!
So no blogging for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Maybe if the work load is less on Monday then might blog.
